RETURNS AND EXCHANGE Policy
At Rutherford Audio, we take pride in distributing premium audio and electronic products with the highest level of quality control. To ensure fairness and transparency for all parties, the following terms apply to all returns, exchanges, and cancellations.

1. Eligibility for Returns or Exchanges

Returns or exchanges are accepted only with prior written authorization (RMA) issued by Rutherford Audio.
No product may be returned, exchanged, or refunded without a valid RMA number.

To qualify for consideration:

  • The request must be made within 14 days of the receipt of the product.
  • Products must be in like-new condition, free of cosmetic or functional damage.
  • All original packaging, accessories, manuals, and components must be included.
  • Products must not show signs of installation, modification, misuse, or improper handling.

Rutherford Audio reserves the right to refuse returns that do not meet these requirements.

2. Non-Returnable Items

The following categories are not eligible for return or exchange unless defective upon arrival:

  • Special-order or custom-configured products
  • Products built to order at the manufacturer’s request
  • Discontinued, clearance, or “open box” items
  • Consumable items (cartridges, tubes, cables cut to length, etc.)
  • Any product showing signs of installation or use

3. Manufacturer Defects / DOA Products

If a product arrives damaged or defective:

  • The customer must notifyRutherford Audio within 72 hours of delivery.
  • If confirmed DOA, an exchange or repair will be arranged at no cost to the customer.
  • Replacement units will be subject to availability.

4. Return Fees

Unless the product is confirmed defective upon arrival, all approved returns are subject to:

a. Restocking Fees

A 15%–25% restocking fee applies depending on the product type and condition upon return.
Higher fees may apply if packaging, accessories, or materials require replacement.

b. Shipping Charges

  • Outbound shipping charges are non-refundable.
  • Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer.
  • If prepaid return labels are provided, costs will be deducted from the refund.

c. Inspection & Reconditioning Fees

Additional fees may apply if the product requires cleaning, re-packaging, or testing beyond normal procedures.

5. Exchanges

Exchanges may be permitted on a case-by-case basis with an issued RMA.
Price differences will be charged or credited accordingly.

All exchange items must meet the same eligibility criteria outlined above.

6. Refund Method

Approved refunds will be processed:

  • Within 7–10 business days of product inspection
  • To the original method of payment
  • Less any applicable restocking, shipping, or reconditioning fees

7. Cancellations

Order cancellations prior to shipment:

  • May be subject to a 10% administrative fee
  • Special-order or custom items cannot be cancelled once production has begun
  • Orders already shipped will be treated as a return and subject to the above fees.

8. Rights & Limitations

Rutherford Audio reserves the right to:

  • Refuse any return or exchange request
  • Charge additional fees for damage, missing components, or non-compliant returns
  • Modify this policy at any time without prior notice
