2 PROCESSOR
The K22 features a high-quality, medium-pow- ered processing engine that runs Server and Player applications. It incorporates the acclaimed K50’s re-clocking engine. It can function as a top-notch Player device, ideal for adding player end-points to Oladra systems. The K22 engine supports multiple DAC connection options and network streaming via Ethernet.
DESIGN
The KALA 22 utilizes a single custom computer for both its Server and Player applications. This computer is derived from the Player computer found in the KALA 50, but with enhanced processing capabilities. The KALA 22’s outputs are consistent with those of the KALA 50, except for Ethernet streaming to your DAC, which occurs over your network (unlike the KALA 50 and KALA 41, which also offer Direct Streaming).
The medium-power Server/Player computer manages playback and enables you to play content across your network to multiple endpoints. Additionally, it allows connection to the DAC in your primary system via USB, S/PDIF, AES3, and I2S interfaces.
UPGRADE
Similar to all KALA models, the KALA 22 has been designed with upgradability in mind for future releases.
Additionally, you have the option to enhance your KALA 22 to achieve KALA 50 performance across all outputs by incorporating a KALA 41. By separating the Server and Player applications and allocating additional power to the Server app, this upgrade enhances musical insight and refinement. Furthermore, it ensures seamless handling of large music libraries and DSP functions.
