The Burmester 217 is a formidable turntable like the 175 was before it. And yet, it is not a turntable that delivers a formidable sound.
In a room that vied for recognition as the hottest enclosed space on the hottest floor on the hottest day of Munich High End, 45-year-old Burmester Audio introduced its new CEO, Industrial Engineer Frank Weise, and at least four new products.
Burmester’s 151 MK2 Musiccenter delivers on its designer’s promise. When paired with a quality external preamp, it facilitates all the joys, sorrows, sadness, and jubilation music offers.
This is an important loudspeaker for Burmester. This is clearly not a brand that rest upon its laurels, and the BC150 shows Burmester’s high-end approach is equally at home making ultra-high-end loudspeakers.
It took 41 years for Burmester to make its first turntable, so the 175 had to be something really special.
